Eating Out in Lansdale: A Seafood Shout Out to Shellfish Sue

It seems most of our eating out these days can be done within walking distance. Thai, Vietnamese, Lebanese, ... see my top ten list.

So we often walk by a new place coming into being and ponder what it will be like. A new Greek place is opening soon. So for months we walked by a place that promised to bring seafood dining to within walking distance. And when it finally opened we stopped in and have been back a few times since then to be greeted warmly by the owner and treated to an excellent meal. 

So this is to say that I am glad it came to Lansdale even if I have a hard time saying their name. Would love if this place prospers. [Sadly they closed after a couple delicious years.]

Came home from work today to find two bags sitting on our table. The bags were from the Alice Bakery located in nearby North Wales, PA. Slightly tempted, I was chewing on a piece of the baguette as I walked up stairs to get the business news from Mosaic Woman (weekday ritual), who blogged F is for 45.

I had asked her to get some good bread to go with our soup and succeeded for sure. The other bag had a chocolate croissant that was devoured with our early evening coffee.

As for the Frim Fram Sauce, apparently it does not exist (non-exhausted research) and it took to this day to finally find that out. Thank God for the A to Z Challenge. Nat King Cole made it big, so lets hear it from the man and listen till the end for the punch line delivered to the waiter:

Fridays in PA: PASA: Pennsylvania Association for Sustainable Agriculture

Small farms and the folk who try to raise our food here in PA have a great friend or should I say advocate in PASA. Since 1992 this organization has been giving them a voice in Harrisburg, promoting their products, giving them educational opportunities, and running a very cool convention at Penn State University. I am proud to say we have supported them for years and I have been to two conventions.


It is through them that I know there is even such a thing as a micro-dairy. Farmers have become empowered to celebrate what they do on whatever scale they do it.

I am also here to report that August is Pennsylvania Produce Month. So here is a photo taken in February of hydroponic lettuce grown by one of our favorite growers, who is selling this summer at the Lansdale Farmer's Market...
