I've been putting together a newsletter these days which focus on Log Cabin quilts. You can sign up for the newsletter here. Hopefully many of you saw our first one last month. Hope to have it sent out soon.
I planned to produce two pieces which were to be the same. But when I was trying to pin the pieces down to solder, some pins flew out and pieces scattered and one piece wasn't quite the same when I lifted it up from the floor. I gathered the pieces together and in an amazingly unmindful way put them back together leaving out the two largest pieces (it was fortunate to break an outside piece) The four on the out
side were heading in the right direction and the interiors should match up ... one should look like the other, but you can see for yourself... Anyway, I liked the result.
I like that they are different from one another.
ReplyDeleteGannet Girl--- No cheap mass produced work here ;') thanks for stopping by. off to the gym--- think I can breathe enough to go for the first time in weeks!
ReplyDeleteI so wanted to do a stained glass quilt! wait, make that want to make a stained glass quilt....
ReplyDeleteMs Klem--- I sat in meetings yesterday designing some patchwork quilt designs.
ReplyDeleteThey're beauties, Wayne.

Wayne, please tell Mosaic Woman for me that I find her work equally gorgeous! I couldn't post a comment there but wanted to let her know. (Guess I have to sign up...)

For some reason, your photos do not show. I'd love to see them but instead must imagine them in my mind. I'd not heard of stained glass quilts before. I live in an area of artistic quilters and window makers but none who have combined both in what I imagine is glowing, transparent, beauty.
ReplyDeleteI can't see the pics either. :( This is the error code I get when I click on the link in the space where they should be -

Daisy--- thanks, I passed on the kind words about her mosaics
ReplyDeleteBeryl and Kathryn--- sorry to hear you could not see the photos. I could at work and home so ???? I know you were doing fine with your imagination but I sent them to you. Please let me know, if you come back, if you can see the photos.
Nice...
ReplyDeleteI'm tellin ya....get a booth at a quilt show..... Harrisburg this fall??!!
i also cannot see the images AND the image in the previous post -- which i was able to view -- has also disappeared.
ReplyDeleteerror message text = Unable to find user with email 984371319333 (which, interestingly, is different than kathryn's code . . . )
i can try and access from work tomorrow altho' some blog spots are blocked by corporate and others seem to slip thru undetected -- another "go figure"!
(actually, i just think it's all one vast conspiracy to do something that i haven't figured out just yet . . .)
Giggles--- maybe one day.
ReplyDeleteRed--- I will be curious how this conspiracy turns out. I am sure that car chase had something to do with it.
Actually, I couldn't see the photos on Firefox but I could see them on Safari for some reason.??
ReplyDeleteMich
OK, i have photos now! how very beautiful: definitely well-worth the wait. i like the simple elegance of your work.
ReplyDelete(ooooh! i hadn't factored that "car chase" into the conspiracy mix! perhaps you're being monitored for mocking our valiant police dep't after it stumbled upon a law-breaker and chased the car a whole block and a half! see what happens when we mock?!?)
Red and Daisy... hopefully all will see the photos now???
ReplyDeleteI have seen the result of my mocking, which is why I never mock the police, however, I may mock the language used to describe their activities.
Ya, watch what you guys say about those men in blue...I wouldn't want to have any unwelcome chases down my street tomorrow night at 8:30...
ReplyDeleteit took a while but I just sold the second of these and it is headed to Minnesota!
