A Few of My Favorite Things Begins



I have not been blogging or reading blogs much for the last ten days.  I was in a food court.  Students roaming about finding a lunch.  Big screen TV telling some breaking news.  That night my spirit group entered into the initial silence.  I thought it would last forever.  I thought that it would be just fine.  let us sit and imagine the horror.  Let us imagine the grief.  Let us imagine the healing.  Let us hope.  Since then I have read stories of men shouting ... if I can't have you none will ... as toddlers lose their mother just feet away from their crib.  I am told that I can only be safe in my classroom if I carry a gun.

and I want to rant. 

instead I tell my pain to Mosaic Woman and imagine blogging about my favorite things over my time off from teaching.  

I am blessed to have someone to share my life and that is my favorite thing for this day.

  2. The amazing thing is that Love is able to cut through the assaults of pain, isolation and horror. We are so blessed when we come to realize that. I look forward to the posts of your favorites. I'm thinking of you both and count myself blessed for knowing you over the internet. I hope that you and Margaret have wonderful Christmas.

  3. My daughter was too afraid to go to school on Friday because of some rumors. I let her stay home.
    I don't really think that there is a safe place from physical harm or physical death. We just like to think that harm and death belong somewhere else, and not where we live.

    The media makes takes a snowball and rolls it down a hill by broadcasting it for days on end. The snowball forms into a large monster snow ball, taking out everyone in it's path. They take the power of the media and cause more fear and grief in the name of news.

  4. I've thought of you often during this difficult time, how it affected you and how it affected your student. I like this new feature. It brings me joy, so I hope it is doing the same for you.
